I do believe
that when he loses
the "Toddler Pudge"
he's going to have Daddy's dimple.
Maybe two!

Self Portrait.
Taken in the car, with the cell phone's camera,
while driving.
Sheese, the sacrifices I make
to avoid missing a day...
and yes, I got my hair cut.

Modern Art on Canvas?
No.
PlayDoh on Table.
Artist: Liam
(I'm printing, framing and hanging this in his Playroom!)

I didn't take any photos on the 24th -

So, here's one from

Wow, what a difference a year makes!

May 23, 2009

We went to the Norfolk Tides game tonight.
Beautiful weather, extra innings, guest Mascot - lots of fun.

I know this is similar to another picture a few posts back, but I can't help it.
I think this love of baseball has been passed down
from father to son,
and beyond.

I "tweaked" this photo to look old
because I love knowing that this scene, and this same picture
could have been taken of many generations
of our family.

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

I predict in the future, everyone
will wear their glasses
upside down...

May 20, 2009

At the park today
Liam ran around quite a bit.
Then, he decided that he was tired...
announced that he was going to rest...
and did this.
(He even pretended to snore. Seriously.)

Found this shamrock
on my Dad's driveway.
Neat.

Huge thunderstorms today.
This is the view from my windshield at 1:54 pm
in the parking lot of Lowe's.
Liam had a blast walking into the store
with the BIG umbrella...

Today
my buddy Caranie and I
laid a new floor in my kitchen.
Frankly,
I'm impressed.

May 13, 2009

Looks like paper, doesn't it?
Nope.
I'm scraping/peeling layers of paint
off the walls in the kitchen.
Near as I can tell, that yellow is the original
1942 painted plaster.
(stay tuned...)

A big storm blew in
which caused a
Rain Delay.
We got this beautiful
dusk rainbow
in exchange
for our patience...

May 11, 2009

Where did the last two days go?
I didn't take ANY photos.
So, I'm going to have to cheat for May 11th and 12th
and give you two more from the Ball Game...

The view from our seats.
(Photoshopped.)
I may frame this and put it in Liam's room.
Y'know...his first ball game.
For posterity. ;)

A dear friend was blessed with this little bundle of joy this afternoon.
No, I wasn't there to take this photo...
but there's no other picture I'd want to post today!
(So, I uploaded the texted photo she sent and Photoshopped.
No, it's not cheating.)
WELCOME, SPROUT!!

"On the surface, it appeared to be an ordinary haircut.
But, as Secret Test Pilot Walter "Liam" Mitty
performed his equipment safety check,
the knowledge of impending danger on this mission
made his heart beat loudly in time
with the propellors...
ta poketa, ta poketa, ta poketa...!"
(If you're not familiar with that reference...see HERE.)
