May 23, 2009

We went to the Norfolk Tides game tonight.
Beautiful weather, extra innings, guest Mascot - lots of fun.

I know this is similar to another picture a few posts back, but I can't help it.
I think this love of baseball has been passed down
from father to son,
and beyond.

I "tweaked" this photo to look old
because I love knowing that this scene, and this same picture
could have been taken of many generations
of our family.

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."
